An artist's career and ministry are the two categories
we consider before booking an artist. Both must be contemplated
together, although each has separate aspects. While examining
a musician's career, the first thing necessary is representation
by a major record label. By "major" we mean one that will
a) nationally represent and distribute the artist's music,
b) officiate radio, marketing and media support and c)
work together with us to plan tours and provide proper
press materials for the artist. If the artist is signed
with such a label, we will secondly determine if we feel
the artist's music is current and marketable. From there
we decide if the music style will add a needed element
to our roster or affect the job we are already doing for
our other artists.
Our desire is to find out the heart of the artist: what
is his vision? What specific calling has God placed in
his life? Connecting with the artist enables us to work
out of a common understanding of God's plan and anointing
for his specific ministry. It's important that our artists
are involved in a local church and living in proper alignment
with the authority of their pastors and fellow believers.
We will request a letter from the artist's pastor recommending
him and verifying his accountability.
We want to represent those whom God would have us represent,
so we present potential artists before Him in prayer.
Considering an artist is not always a cut and dry process,
but it is a corporate decision based on our evaluation
of the artist's musical calling as a whole.
